Use this handy checklist, to easily list your
item.
Take one or more pictures of your item in a well-lit area.
Effective pictures are sharp and bright. Evenly distributed
artificial or natural light is better than a camera flash
for most items. A tripod or other stand can be handy for steadying
the camera, and increases focus.
Set your Camera to a standard or even a "low" quality
setting. After you have taken your pictures, transfer them
to your computer hard disk following the instructions in the
camera manual. If you want AJ to host your pictures on AJ
Picture Services, then you will select them directly from
this disk folder when you add pictures to your listing. If
you use another web site to host your pictures, you should
upload them before you start listing-follow the file uploading
instructions provided by your Internet service provider or
hosting service. Note the Web Address (URL) for each uploaded
picture, so you can copy it into the Sell Your Item form.
Write your HTML code. If you plan to include HTML, complete
and test your code before you get started with the listing process.Learn
more about HTML
Have the item on hand. Keep the item close by in case you
think of other things you want to add to your description.
registerer for selling-related services. Make your selling process
easier by registerering for additional services before you begin
the Sell Your Item form. If you want to sell in the Mature Audiences
section, now would be a good time to go through the ID Verify
process. If you want to sell through your own AJ Store, open
one now.
Plan your item title and description. Give some thought to naming
and describing your item. What will buyers most want to know
about it? What are its most appealing characteristics? What
words might buyers use to search for your item? Use HTML, or
if you don't know it, use our HTML text editor.
Choose your AJ category (or categories). Selecting the correct
category helps interested buyers find your item. Search for
items similar to yours and see which categories other sellers
have chosen. You can also use our Suggested Categories feature
to have AJ suggest categories for you. For an additional fee,
you can list your item in a second category to maximize your
item's visibility.
Note: Choose the most specific category available. This will
help buyers find your item.
Plan your pricing. You may want to do a little research into
the selling prices of other items similar to yours. This will
help you set your starting price or your Buy It Now price.
Also, decide whether you would like to set a reserve price.
